Sichuan Tourism University and Honam University in South Korea Jointly Promote International Development

On the afternoon of November 13, our university and Honam University in South Korea held a collaboration exchange meeting and an unveiling ceremony for the Second Sejong Institute in Chengdu. This event marked a significant step forward for both universities in promoting international development and deepening collaborative education.

 

 

 

The exchange meeting took place in Conference Room 1, where our university president Wang Chuan, vice president Li Jinjun, and heads of related departments, as well as the School of Culinary and Food Science Engineering, Sports and Leisure, and Art and Design, engaged in in-depth discussions with Honam University President Park Sangcheol and his delegation. Park Sangcheol highly praised our universitys strengths and unique characteristics. He expressed hope that the two universities could further strengthen exchanges and collaboration, achieving more outcomes in various areas. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on how to deepen cooperation, enhance education quality, and promote student development, reaching broad consensus.

 

President Wang Chuan proposed three key expectations: first, to deepen professional collaboration and jointly cultivate international talent; second, to strengthen cultural exchanges to foster mutual understanding between faculty and students; and third, to expand areas of cooperation, achieving resource sharing and complementary advantages. Wang expressed confidence that with joint efforts, the cooperation between the two universities will yield fruitful results, setting a new model for educational exchange and cooperation between the two countries.

 

The unveiling ceremony of the Second Sejong Institute in Chengdu is an important milestone in the partnership between the two universities. Serving as a crucial platform, the institute will provide students with opportunities for language learning, cultural exchange, and professional development, fostering cultural exchange and integration between China and South Korea. In his speech, Uhm Wonjae, Consul General of the Korean Consulate General in Chengdu, emphasized that through the establishment of the Second Sejong Institute, the two universities will deepen exchange and cooperation between Sichuan Province and South Korea, contributing to the development of China-South Korea relations. Cultural Consul Park Yerim and Zhu Yongqin, Secretary-General of the Korea-China Cultural Exchange Association, also attended the unveiling ceremony.
